I have several new publications coming out soon. An article on the SPRING program has been accepted by the Journal of STEM Education. The ChemSims project has articles that have been accepted by each the International Journal of STEM Education (on Gas Laws) and the Journal of Chemical Education (on Atomic Interactions). Update will be forthcoming when these make it to print.

It’s officially Professor now
I’m excited to share that I get to drop the word Associate from my title. I would suggest that it is time to get new business cards, but perhaps that will wait a bit. They just don’t get used that often.
3D-LOP publication!
The 3DL4US group has a new publication on the 3D-LOP (Learning Observation Protocol) that just came out at PLoS One! Check it out here. Congrats to Kinsey and the entire group for pulling this together. It represents lots of work.
AT&T Instructional Technology award
I’m very excited to be able to share that Rachel Barnard and I were recognized with and honorable mention in MSU’s AT&T Instructional Technology awards. Presumably the website will be updated soon with the 2020 winners.
NSF Showcase
The NSF Showcase is open and you can see the cool work of the 3DL group here. Support it by voting for it.
Really excited that the 2nd of our Texting project papers was selected as an Editor’s Choice article for the Canadian Journal of Chemistry. Awesome work with Debbie Herrington. The article can be found at https://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/full/10.1139/cjc-2019-0291#.Xh4Nznt7lEY. Excited that it is open access.
Publication in College Teaching!
Recently had final acceptance of a Quick Fix article by College Teaching. “Using online grading to stagger midterm exam feedback and create space for meaningful student reflection”. This work, done with Rachel Barnard, can be found at https://doi.org/10.1080/87567555.2020.1713041.
“Understanding the Impact of Learning Community Support for STEM students with Low Mathematics Placement STEM students with Low Mathematics Placement” was just published! Nice work done with Merve, Sam and Becky that examines the successes of the INQUIRE program over the past 10 years.
